Camelina, a New Opportunity for French Bioeconomy?

Short Introductive summary

Camelina (Camelina sativa) is an oilseed crop not really developed in France. Its genetic diversity is a good opportunity to grow into double cropping systems towards climate change adaptation. 4CE-MED program (PRIMA-Horizon 2020 support) aims at developing Mediterranean innovative, diversified, and resilient farming systems with low ILUC and a participatory approach. A multistakeholder platform was carried out in France to analyse strengths, opportunities, or weaknesses of these cropping systems, to design experiments and carry out a technical, economic, and environmental assessment. Technical results are presented with the integrated assessment in two pedoclimatic conditions and 3 cropping systems.
