Social Innovation for Rural Bioeconomies
Short Introductive summary
The SCALE-UP project adopts a comprehensive approach to advance regional bioeconomies, emphasizing social, environmental, and economic benefits for rural development. It facilitates collaboration among diverse stakeholders, including private firms, governments, policymakers, civil society organizations, and researchers, to identify and scale up innovative and sustainable bio-based value chains using regional resources. Recognizing the importance of citizen inclusion and social dimensions, the project incorporates social innovation to promote sustainable development. The project analyzes the concept of social innovation, explores best practices in regional contexts, and compiles the findings into a handbook for reference by regional stakeholders.
