Renovabio a Brazilian Program Analyze to Increase Biofuel Participation in the Energetic Matrix

Short Introductive summary

The total anthropic emissions associated with the Brazilian energy matrix reached 445.4 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCO2-eq), with the majority (197.8 MtCO2-eq) generated in the transport sector (EPE, 2022). Furthermore, road transport has been responsible for more than 70% of this sector. Therefore, using renewable sources is fundamental to achieving greater efficiency in energy use, making socioeconomic development less dependent on fossil fuels. Understanding the contributions of an innovative program such as Renovabio can be helpful and bring lessons learned to other countries with similar possibilities as Brazil.
