Selective Production of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural from Fruit Waste Biomass Combining Multivariate Calibration for qNMR Analysis and HPLC

Short Introductive summary

This work presents the selective approach towards efficient production of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural from fruit waste biomass combining multivariate calibration for qNMR analysis and HPLC. Our study utilizes a biphasic reaction system and employs an in-situ extraction solvent to enhance the formation of 5-HMF while minimizing the generation of undesired by-products. 5-HMF-yield, selectivity and conversion rate of 32%, 51% and 93%, respectively, were obtained at optimal conditions.
