Experimental Tests of a Digital Twin for a Pilot Plant for Synthetic Natural Gas Production from Biomass
Short Introductive summary
A digital twin (DT) was implemented in a synthetic natural gas (SNG) production pilot plant at TU Wien, aiming to enhance competitiveness and reduce greenhouse gas emissions of the process. The DT facilitates real-time process monitoring, process control and optimization. Successful testing in the pilot plant suggests readiness for application in an industrially relevant demonstration-scale plant, potentially improving cold gas efficiency of the process chain by five percentage points.
