Life cycle thinking and environmental assessments in bio-based innovations: from materials to energy systems
Advancing RenovaCalc: The Brazilian Tool for Calculating Carbon Intensity of Sustainable Fuels in Alignment with International Policies
Short Introductive summary
Giulia C. Lamas, a Chemical Engineer from the University of Brasília (UnB) and current Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical Sciences, specializes in sustainable fuels, renewable biomass energy, and thermo-chemical process modeling. Engaged in research at EMBRAPA Agroenergia (Brazil), she contributes to the development of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) through RenovaCalc under RenovaBio. Lamas is an active member of the Energy and Environment Laboratory (LEA) and ACV Brasil Life Cycle Assessment Research Group. Her research focuses on environmental impact analysis and the experimental and numerical modeling of thermo-chemical processes (gasification, torrefaction, pyrolysis, combustion) aimed at converting waste and biomass into high-value products.
