Biography
Naycari Forfora is a chemical engineer from the University of Los Andes, Venezuela. She holds a magna-cum laude in her bachelor's degree. She is a second-year Ph.D. student at the Department of Forest Biomaterials at North Carolina State University and the research leader within the Sustainable and Alternative Fibers Initiative (SAFI) consortium. During her first year of studies, she evaluated the sustainability of biomass production systems, including the potential soil organic carbon sequestration by different cultivar types. Presently, she is evaluating the conversion of renewable sources to useful products in the pulp and paper industry and for producing man-made cellulosic fibers.
