Biomass Use in Biorefineries
Municipal Solid Waste-Based Biorefinery for Production of Liquid and Solid Fuels, Biochemical and Bio-Polymers
Short Introductive summary
This paper gives the results of a waste-based biorefinery based on laboratory and pilot plant generated data. The work shows how the organic fraction of municipal solid waste and primary sewage sludge can be utilised using hydrothermal liquefaction as a central processing unit to produce biodiesel, GreenCoal briquettes, polyurethane foams, bio-based chemicals as well as electricity in an integrated waste-based bio-refinery.
