Bioenergy Retrofitting in Europe’s Industry - BIOFIT Project Results

Short Introductive summary

The BIOFIT project (www.biofit-h2020.eu) is a HORIZON2020 initiative that aims to facilitate the introduction of bioenergy retrofitting in five specific industries, namely first-generation biofuels, pulp and paper, fossil refineries, fossil firing power and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants. Near the end of the BIOFIT project, all the project results are now available, and these are synthesized and conclusions are drawn. In this presentation the recommendations and lessons learned from the case studies, as well as the sector-specific market uptake potential and strategies are presented. Five Sectoral Recommendation Papers were drafted, and policy recommendations were made as well.
