Sustainability-Related Criteria for the Prioritisation of Bio-Mass Uses

Short Introductive summary

The question of prioritising the various ways of using biomass has gained a key role in strategies for bioeconomy , when it became clear that competing uses and conflicts over land availability were becoming a major issue. The ifeu Institute is currently conducting a research project together with the Öko-Institut on behalf of the German Federal Environment Agency, in which starting points for prioritising biomass flows and uses are to be developed. These starting points are to be used in the further development of the National Bioeconomy Strategy.
