Biochar Production from Pyrolysis of Residual Forest Biomass: Comparison of Biochar Properties from Bench-Scale Batch Reactor and Pilot-Scale Auger Reactor.
Short Introductive summary
In this work it was studied the pyrolysis process and the characteristics of biochar produced using a bench-scale fixed bed batch operated reactor and a pilot-scale auger reactor with continuous operation. The objective was to evaluate the influence of scale up of the process on biochar characteristics, and to understand how experimental data collected in bench-scale reactors can be used to predict the yield and composition of biochar produced in pilot-scale auger reactors with continuous operation.
