Dosage Levels of the Enzyme for the Production of Bioethanol in Orange Peel Hydrolysis
Short Introductive summary
Having a large amount of lignocellulosic materials available, this can be converted enzymatically into a potential renewable raw material for the continuous supply of second generation bioethanol which, added to the growing generation of waste, seeks to take advantage of orange peel waste (Citrus Sinensis) that are generated in juice shops, restaurants, markets, among others. Through this research project, the optimal conditions of the dosage levels of the enzyme for the production of bioethanol based on orange peels in hydrolysis were obtained. The process to optimize the conversion of orange peels to bioethanol will follow the stages of: physical pretreatment, hydrolysis to obtain glucose with sugar content, fermentation of the syrup with Saccharomyces Cerevisiae, distillation and the respective dehydration. Where the variables that will be studied will be the temperature, pH, reaction time and proportion of the solvent to increase performance and optimize each of the stages. The treatment of 50 grams of orange peel with 400 mL of water and 10 mL of cellulase enzyme at 55°C for 1 hour, an increase in the sugar content from 3 brix to 5.9 brix. After fermentation with Saccharomyces
