SUNERGY: Fossil-free Fuels for a Climate Neutral Europe

Short Introductive summary

How can we achieve the EU’s goal of becoming the first climate-neutral continent by 20250? SUNER-C is a EU-funded Coordination and Support Action (CSA) aiming to contribute to this objective, targeting the next generation of energy carriers to replace fossil-fuels (project funded by the European Union Grant Agreement No. 101058481). 29 EU partners gather to work on building an ecosystem of companies, researchers, societal actors and policymakers, to accelerate the transition of technologies on solar fuels and chemicals, from the laboratory to large-scale industrial applications. The communication will present an overview of the SUNER-C project and of the related SUNERGY European R&I initiative and of the SUNER-C project, its vision and priorities in terms of research and innovation to develop an European large-scale research and innovation program on fossil-free fuels and chemicals for a climate-neutral Europe.
