Environmental Life Cycle Assessments
Environmental And Economic Life Cycle Assessment of Biomass-To-Bioenergy Valorization Schemes, Derived from Phytoremediation of Dredged Sediment
Short Introductive summary
The objective of this study was to integrate the economic and environmental life cycle assessment (LCA) into the laboratory trials to offer a comprehensive insight into the environmental sustainability, economic viability, and technical feasibility of biomass to bioenergy valorization integrated into the phytoremediation of dredged sediment using the plant Arundo Donax. A comparative economic and environmental life cycle assessment (LCA) of the biomass-to-bioenergy valorization chain integrated into the phytoremediation of sediment would offer superior sustainability in terms of economy and environment. Integrating biomass valorization into phytoremediation may offer a carbon-negative scenario thanks to carbon sequestration and avoiding fossil fuels, partially compensating the cost of phytoremediation as well.

Presenter's biography
Developing parametric life cycle models to quantify economic and environmental impacts, integrated into laboratory trials across all my projects, would provide comprehensive insights into the economic viability, environmental sustainability, and technical feasibility of potential scenarios.
