Electrochemcial Treatment of Hydrothermal Liquefaction Derived Wastewater with Simultaneous H2 Production

Short Introductive summary

I am a PhD student at Aalborg university in the Advanced biofuels group. Our group has been working for over a decade on thermochemical pathways for conversion of waste biomass to drop in fuels. We have know how on whole value chain of bio-based drop-in fuels from biomass characterization to final fuel analysis. In this study we will present electrochemical oxidation as a downstream process to treat hydrothermal liquefaction derived wastewater stream while simultaneously producing hydrogen for downstream hydrotreatment of bio-oil to drop-in fuels.
