This paper discusses about possibilities and effects of replacing fossil fuels in regional level, in Finland. Study focuses forest biomass fuels such as logging residues and small diameter energy wood. Employment effect of forest biomass supply is studied, CO2 emission reduction when replacing fossil fuels are evaluated and sustainability matters of wood biomass are discussed.
