Systematic Characterization of the Essential Oil of Cistus Ladanifer L. from the Central Area of the Iberian Peninsula Over A Two-Year Period
Short Introductive summary
Cistaceae species have recently attracted significant agro-environmental interest due to their swift colonization of marginal, poor, burned, or even metal-contaminated agricultural soils, along with the potential applications of their bio-based products in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or food industries. This study aims to determine the qualitative and quantitative variation of the essential oil from gum rockrose (Cistus ladanifer L.) throughout the year. The objective is to optimize this aromatic plant’s economic utilization in line with current fire management practices, while enabling mechanized harvesting and additional agricultural income in mountainous rural areas.
