Biorefinery Based on Cashew Apple: Opportunities and Challenges for Chemicals and Bioenergy Production

Short Introductive summary

In this work, some opportunities and challenges for chemicals and bioenergy production by the Cashew Apple-based multiproduct biorefinery was investigated. This work also evaluated the feasibility to integrate ethanol-biohydrogen production routes using cashew bagasse as feedstock. In addition to the ethanol and biohydrogen routes, in a biorefinery concept, Lignin production was evaluated. Lignin is an important intermediate molecule to the production of a wide range of value-added products.
