Innovative Smart Hybrid Anaerobic Digester: Design and Evolution

Short Introductive summary

This study pioneers a Smart Hybrid Anaerobic Digester, driven by the surging demand for sustainable energy. Employing Anaerobic Digestion technology, it extracts biogas and bio-fertilizers from abundant biomass and organic waste. Operating at thermophilic temperatures (~50-55°C) increases the yields of biogas, which is addressed by advanced monitoring technology. • An IoT-based remote monitoring system for crucial parameters including biogas production is incorporated into the digester. • A priority-based thermal control system efficiently manages multiple renewable sources including waste heat, optimizing operational costs. • Through the innovative thermal analysis system, precise calculations of thermal energy requirements are made, ensuring maximum design efficiency and accurate energy forecasting. The present study on Smart Hybrid Anaerobic Digester works at the intersection of enhanced waste management practices, energy security, soil fertility, climate change mitigation, and localized livelihood generation.
