Resource efficiency in biomass chains and strategic assessment of market opportunities
Hard Carbons as Sodium Ion Batteries Anodes: Higher Mass Yield by the Optimization of Intermediate Production Steps
Short Introductive summary
Sodium ion batteries have a big potential to be used as stationary batteries for renewable energies but they still need further developed to reach market readiness level. Hard carbons are favourite candidates for the anodes. It is shown that the conditions of the synthesis of the precursors of the hard carbon are of primordial interest since it has a large influence on the mass yield and therewith on the economic balance of its production process. This may be a decisive factor for the market introduction of hard carbons as anodes of sodium ion batteries.
