In-depth presentation of the study on industrial outlook for advanced biofuels

Potential Capacity for the Industrial Supply of Advanced Biofuels in Europe

Short Introductive summary

This study assessed the potential capacity for the industrial supply of advanced biofuels in 2030 and beyond. The analysis found that the potential capacity development strongly depends on the market conditions. Current market conditions spur only limited investorĀ“s appetite, and thus the demonstration of several advanced biofuels technologies is likely to be delayed, hindering the required technological learning and further technological development. However, technology developers are well prepared to realize a number of industrial facilities per year, if investors are willing to go forward. In that case, the capacity for the production of advanced biofuels and biomethane could be expanded largely by 2030, easily meeting the expected policy-driven demand.
