Fibenol Innovative Hardwood Bioindustry Model as Basis for Driving the Change Towards Sustainable Biomaterials and Biochemicals Production
Short Introductive summary
Fibenol announced the successful commissioning of the world’s first wood fractionation plant in the middle of 2023, marking a significant milestone in the production of lignocellulosic biomaterials. As of Q4 2023 our plant in Imavere, Estonia has entered into ramp up phase, and producing cellulosic C5 and C6 sugars, as well as our innovative LIGNOVA lignin. In our upcoming presentation, Fibenol will share insights into the challenges and triumphs of scaling up innovation amidst a global pandemic and uncertain times in Eastern Europe. We will highlight the key take-home messages from our pioneering scale-up experience and provide updates on the planning of our first industrial plant. However, operating a world-class biorefinery is only one aspect of our story. For the potential of bioeconomy to flourish, there are critical topics that demand attention from the public sector, industry partners, and the global audience.
