Experimental Investigation of Hydrogen Production by Fixed-bed Gasification of Woody Biomass

Short Introductive summary

This work presents the experimental investigation of lab-scale high-purity hydrogen production from a synthetically pre-mixed product gas and a real product gas from a downdraft fixed-bed gasifier. The results are intended to support the commissioning of the 100 kWH2 demonstration plant, the so-called BioH2Modul, which is currently being built within the FCTRAC project. Except of carbon dioxide, the impurity concentrations were found to be lower than the given thresholds of the standard ISO 14687:2019 for the test run with a synthetically pre-mixed product gas.

Presenter's biography

I am PhD student at the Institute of Chemical, Environmental & Bioscience Engineering at TU Wien. I have been focusing on high-purity H2 production from biomass-derived gases & have contributed to the development of a H2 production plant (BioH2Modul).
