Banagrass for Biomass: an Environmental and Social Hotspot Analysis

Short Introductive summary

This research explores the environmental and social implications of utilizing Banagrass as a source of biocoal and biochar for Tata Steel. By conducting a hotspot analysis, the study identifies critical areas where the production and use of these biomass resources could significantly impact the environment and local ecosystems and communities. The investigation provides insights into the sustainability of biomass as an alternative energy source, evaluating the main challenges. Through an assessment of environmental emissions, resource consumption, and socio-economic factors, this research aims to inform strategic decisions at Tata Steel, supporting their transition to more sustainable manufacturing practices.
