Production of biochar
Exploring Fluidized Bed Technology for Biocarbon Production with Alkali/Phosphorus Mitigation.
Short Introductive summary
This study investigated the influence of various operating parameters, such as temperature, residence time, and particle size, on producing high-quality biocarbon, especially focusing on the release of K, Na, and P from low-cost biomass. Laboratory-scale fluidized bed experiments were conducted to determine the optimal operating conditions and identify the potential effects of biomass-bed material interactions to minimize the presence of these inorganic elements in the resulting biocarbon. The produced biocarbon was further characterized by proximate, ultimate, and ICP-OES analyses.
