Denmark is widely recognized as one of the world’s most advanced renewable energy systems, with nearly half of its total energy consumption derived from renewable sources. Among these, bioenergy remains the dominant contributor, playing a crucial balancing role alongside rapidly expanding wind and solar power. This study presents an updated overview of Denmark’s bioenergy and biofuels sector, developed within the framework of IEA Bioenergy Task 39, which provides internationally comparable insights into national biofuel production and policy development.
