Biomass systems integration
Strategic Planning and Simulation of Biomass Integration into District Heating Networks - An Integrated Approach for the Fossil Phase Out in Gleisdorf, Austria
Short Introductive summary
This work presents an integrated approach to strategic planning and simulation of biomass-based district heating (DH) systems to support municipal fossil-fuel phase-out strategies. Using Gleisdorf (Austria) as a case study, a GIS-supported workflow and energy system simulations (energyPRO) were combined to evaluate expansion scenarios, renewable integration, and emission reduction potentials. The results demonstrate effective pathways for data-driven, low-carbon DH development.
