Algae and aquatic biomass production systems

Critical Metals Mining and Carbon Black from Aquatic Biomass Cultivated in Wastewater

Short Introductive summary

The study focuses on the critical minerals (La, Pr, and Nd) recovery from mining and industrial wastewater using biosorption by aquatic biomass. The cultivated biomass is processed using novel flash hydrolysis and thermochemical processes to recover rare earth elements and producing carbon black from the residual organic fractions.
