TORWASH® Technology: Transforming Wet Waste Streams into Circular Products at Demonstration Scale
Short Introductive summary
TORWASH®, a mild hydrothermal treatment technology developed by TNO and commercialized by TORWASH B.V., offers a novel solution by converting problematic waste streams such as sewage sludge into valuable biobased resources with no waste left. It has been demonstrated on a 500 kg/h- scale at a communal wastewater treatment plant in The Netherlands. Following the successful demonstration phase, TORWASH has entered the basic engineering stage for a full-scale installation, aiming to reach Technology Readiness Level 8 (TRL8) by 2027.
