Sustainable biomass production and carbon management for industrial applications
Biogenic CO2 Capture in Denmark
Short Introductive summary
The first full-scale biogenic CCS project in Denmark, the Ørsted Kalundborg CO2 Hub, is used as a case to illustrate how an integrated value chain for carbon capture, transport, and storage can be realised in practice. By combining technical, policy, and market insights from project data and stakeholder interviews, the study provides lessons for policymakers, investors, and industry actors on enabling large-scale, verifiable carbon removals and developing effective frameworks for emerging carbon removal markets.
