Hydrothermal processing
Direct Catalytic Hydrothermal Liquefaction of Manure: A Quest for Highly Active and Stable Catalysts
Short Introductive summary
Direct conversion of manure to biocrude oil can be achieved by a two-stage process: Supercritical salt separation (1) followed by H2- assisted catalytic hydrothermal liquefaction (cHTL, 2). Following this approach allows for the production of high energy density (HHV 40 MJ/kg) biocrude with low residual oxygen content (O/C 0.08).
