Valorization of Wet Organic Residues Through Supercritical Water Gasification

Short Introductive summary

This work presents the development of Supercritical Water Gasification (SCWG) for wet organic residue valorization. Under supercritical conditions (T 374°C, P 221 bar), SCWG converts high-moisture wastes into renewable bio-syngas. In the Eclosion project, lab tests reached 80-95 % carbon conversion at 450-550°C and 250 bar, while a pilot unit in a waste water treatment plant (100 kg/h digestate) validated the process at TRL 6–7, confirming its potential as a sustainable waste-to-energy technology.
