The study assesses Brassica carinata as a certified low-iLUC feedstock for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in Europe. Field trials in Bologna confirmed its suitability as a winter intermediate crop preceding soybean, providing additional biomass compared to the Dynamic Yield Baseline. Preliminary LCA results show over 50% GHG savings versus fossil fuels. Integrating agronomic data, certification, and life-cycle assessment, this research supports SAF deployment under RED and ReFuelEU frameworks and offers a replicable methodology for other oilseed intermediate crops.
