Short Introductive summary

The increasing demand for sustainable aviation fuels emphasizes the need to optimize syngas-to-liquid catalytic processes for SAF production. Within the ICARUS project, we investigate advanced catalytic strategies aimed at enhancing liquid fuel yields from bio-syngas, thereby supporting the transition to greener aviation. In this work, Ru-based syngas conversion catalysts were employed and its performance, deactivation mechanisms, and regeneration strategies were examined using FTIR, EDX, TPR and XRD.

Evert Boymans, Ph.D. is a researcher and holds a PhD in the field of catalysis obtained at the Technical University of Eindhoven. Since 2017 he has been part of the gasification cluster within the biomass and energy efficiency group of ECN part of TNO.
