Defining Embodied Emissions for a Concentrated Solar System in the Framework of the PYSOLO Project

Short Introductive summary

This work evaluates the environmental performance of a solar-driven biomass pyrolysis system developed in the PYSOLO project. Using Life Cycle Assessment, the study compares different particle heat carrier materials and identifies the heliostat field as the main contributor to environmental impact. The results support system optimization and future scale-up toward sustainable and potentially carbon-negative bioenergy production.

I am a Civil and Environmental Engineer with a Master’s from Politecnico di Torino. I specialize in Climate Change, Renewable Energy, and LCA. Through the PYSOLO project, I analyzed emissions for solar systems to support sustainable engineering and conservation.
