Research on the High-Quality Utilization Potential of Biomass Resources in China

Short Introductive summary

This study is based on 30-meter spatial resolution farmland data, comprehensively considers regional differences in crop maturity, grass-to-crop ratio, and collect-ability coefficients, and simulates the spatial distribution of agricultural straw resources at the county level. At the same time, a high-precision national-scale biomass resource database with a spatial resolution of 1 kilometer and a digital tracking platform for biomass resources were also established. Using LEAP and spatial information technology to simulate scenarios for the utilization of biomass resources and assess the potential for carbon emission reduction. The research results show that the available biomass resources in China are approximately 27.6 EJ. Biomass energy, as a stable, diversified, and cross-disciplinary clean energy, plays a crucial role in the new energy system.
