Investigation of Particle Heat Carriers In Slow Pyrolysis: Impact on Product Yields, Composition and Energy Consumption

Short Introductive summary

The present work reports on experimental research aimed at investigating the use of particle heat carriers (PHCs) as a heat transfer medium in a pilot auger reactor. The research question that this work addresses is whether it is possible to adopt particle heat carriers in a slow-pyrolysis auger pilot plant as a heat-transfer medium, rather than indirect wall heating, without altering the overall pyrolysis regime or impairing biochar yield and properties.
