Glucose-free 4-hydroxybenzoate Production from Sugarcane Bagasse Alkaline Extract by an Engineered Pseudomonas sp. NGC7-based Strain

Short Introductive summary

This study introduces a glucose-free route for the production of 4-hydroxybenzoate (HBA). We successfully engineered Pseudomonas sp. NGC7, a strain capable of utilizing various lignin-derived aromatic monomers, to produce HBA from a complex aromatics mixture derived from practically obtainable sugarcane bagasse alkaline extract. This work demonstrates the feasibility of glucose-free HBA production, contributing to developing a strategy for sustainable chemicals and materials production.
