Biomass valorization for materials and soil health
Incubating Circular Business Models for Soil Health: The Waste4Soil Living Lab Approach to Digestate Valorisation
Short Introductive summary
Waste4Soil develops and tests circular business models that turn biowaste and digestate into high-value fertilising products through Soil Living Labs. In Greece, the project combines Selective Electrodialysis and composting with business-model design to close nutrient loops between food industries, biogas plants, and farmers. Emerging models, cooperative hubs, SME ventures, and public-private partnerships, show clear economic and environmental benefits, lower costs, create new revenue streams, and strengthen trust in circular fertilisers. The project provides an evidence-based framework for scaling circular soil solutions and supporting EU Soil Mission goals.
