Building Credible Markets for Sustainable Chemicals & Materials: An RSB Systems Approach
Short Introductive summary
The transition to sustainable chemicals and materials depends on credible market frameworks grounded in robust sustainability criteria and trustworthy certification. As industries navigate stricter regulatory expectations, feedstock pressures, and increasing scrutiny of environmental and social impacts, alignment on transparent and practical sustainability approaches is urgently needed. RSB’s Sustainable Chemicals & Materials Platform convenes cross?sector stakeholders to address these systemic challenges — integrating certified feedstock governance, flexible and credible chain?of?custody models, claims integrity, and policy alignment. This presentation will highlight how an RSB systems approach, rooted in rigorous standards and certification, can support the development of credible and scalable markets for biobased products, helping industry build trust, reduce risk, and accelerate the shift toward sustainable, low?impact material systems.
