Fundamental Understanding of Energy Recovery from Food Waste Via Thermochemical Liquefaction: Integration of Conceptual Process Modelling and Life Cycle Assessment
Short Introductive summary
Food waste is a promising renewable feedstock but remains underutilized due to instability and disposal challenges. Thermochemical liquefaction enables its conversion into energy-dense biocrude. However, conventional metrics like yield or HHV alone do not fully describe process performance. This study uses energy recovery (ER) as a more comprehensive metric, integrating both yield, energy content as a basis for process scalability assessment
